KARACHI  - Senior Minister for Education & Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq, Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Minister for Revenue Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister on Media and Auqaf, Sharmila Farooqui, and Minister for Women Development Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto have expressed grief over the demise of former Jamat-e-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed who passed away late last night after a heart attack. In their condolence messages, they said that due to the death of Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Pakistan had lost a seasoned politician and the gap that had been created by his death, would never be fulfilled. They prayed that may Almighty Allah keep the departed soul in peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss. Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Maulana Asadullah Bhutto and Dr Merajul Huda, in their condolence message, said that with the sad demise of Qazi Hussain the country had lost a balanced politician. They said the late leader was himself a movement and symbol of the JI mission. The JI leaders said Qazi Hussain Ahmed struggled for bringing all the religious parties under one platform. Meanwhile, MQM Coordination Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Qazi Hussain Ahmad.  According to a statement issued on Sunday, Dr Sattar telephoned Asif Luqman Qazi, the son of Qazi Hussain Ahmed, and expressed condolences on the death of his father. He prayed to Almighty Allah to shower his blessings on the departed soul and give courage and patience to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.couple adopts 7-day old baby:  The Chhipa Welfare Association handed over a 7-day old baby of a poor woman to a childless couple on Sunday. A poverty-stricken woman had approached Ramazan Chhipa a few days back and gave her baby to him, saying she was unable to look after the infant. She requested that the baby be handed over to any family that could raise her up in a better way. The baby was given to a  couple Sohail Shabbir and Mahmooda Sohail, who had no child since their wedding 14 years back. The couple pledged it would look after the baby like their real child.
