Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid has said that hope for peace has played a significant role in Pakistan-India relations. Addressing a seminar in Amritsar on Sunday, he said grant of Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India would give boost to South Asian economy. The Indian external affairs minister promised visa relaxations for journalists.  He said cricket was bringing Pakistan and India closer. According to Indian media reports, Salman Khurshid questioned delay in grant of MFN status to India.

 He said India would do whatever needed to be done to persuade Pakistan to move on this.
