NANKANA SAHIB - The inaugural ceremony of a non-formal school for the children of brick kiln workers was held at Manna Bricks Warburton by the district administration in collaboration with non-profit organisations.

Foundation for Future Country Director Faisal Anjam, PRISE Director Kamran Iftkhar Loan, District Officer Labour Imran Haider Tipu, District Officer Sports Liqat Ali Wattoo, Deputy District Officer (Social Welfare) Shahid Iqbal, Javed Yousaf, Pehchan Welfare Society district President Dr Abid Ali Abid, Mustansar Naveed, Haji Saeed Rehmani were also present.

Thirty students are getting non-formal education in the school, said Rehmani. He appreciated the steps taken by the district administration and PRISE for making efforts to provide education for the labourers’ children. The district officer said that the administration was struggling hard for the solution to their problems.  “We have organised health camp for them. Soon such non-formal school on each brick-kiln in the district will be established with the help of kiln owners,” he said. The PRISE director said that they had been working in the field since 1994 to spread knowledge in every corner of Pakistan.
