MULTAN (APP) - Bangladeshi Acting High Commissioner to Pakistan Mr Mehfozur Rehman Sunday said Bangladesh has social, traditional and economic ties with Pakistan and there is need to promote trade relations between both the countries. While talking to newsmen at local press club, Mehfozur Rehman said that ferry service would be launched soon between Karachi and Chatagang to improve trade between the two countries. To a query about jute export, he said there was ban on export of jute because of its low production in his country and the Jute was being utilised in local industry. He added Bangladesh government would allow its export after fulfilling local requirement. He said there are 80 Bangladesh students studying in medical colleges in Pakistan. He added that Pakistani government had offered 100 scholarships. About India-Pakistan water controversy, he hoped the issue would resolve soon. He added that Bangladesh government was considering to open its consulate in Multan.
