Six British soldiers have gone missing and are believed to have been killed in war-torn Afghanistan after a powerful explosion targeted an armored vehicle, the Ministry of Defence has said. If the soldiers are confirmed as dead, it will take the death toll of British troops in the region to 404. Five soldiers from the 3rd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment and one soldier from the 1st battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment are included in the group, who were on mounted patrol when their vehicle was struck. Defence Secretary Philip Hammond condemned the attack saying "we should never forget those who have lost their lives in Afghanistan to protect our national security."
