LAHORE -Jamaat-i-Islami Saturday demanded accountability of corrupt ministers and heads of various state institutions, and withdrawal of the increase in the prices of petroleum and electricity. A resolution passed by the Jamaats provincial shura at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr Syed Wasim Akhtar said the rulers were not aware of their responsibilities, an independent judiciary was not being tolerated and confrontation between various state institutions was going up. The resolution further said that there was a serious threat to the countrys security, and peoples confidence in politicians was diminishing because of corruption. It said the law and order situation was deteriorating and it had become difficult for the people to make their both ends meet. The government should not take dictation from the IMF and the World Bank.
