ISLAMABAD India has sent additional military troops to Indian Kashmir, in the last couple of days, in order to keep the Kashmiris away from holding peaceful protestors during US President Barrack Obamas visit to New Delhi. Information received from the Occupied Valley discloses that at least three thousand troops of Special Services Bureau (SSB) and two thousand of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have been called in Kupwara, Hindwara and Baramula, three highly sensitive areas where the freedom struggle stands at peak. Senior Hurriyat leaders including the veteran Syed Ali Geelani, Sarmad Dar, Nizam Shahid as well as hundreds of Hurriyat activists are house-arrested. The Kashmiri youths in Srinagar had given valley wide protest call on the eve of Barrack Obamas visit to India amid the reports that the US President, succumbing to Indian pressure, would skip the 'K word in his 'discussions of collective interests with India. Talking to TheNation from Baramula on Saturday, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Sarmad Dar said that the armed raids by Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were at peak in Baramula since last two days. He said that the additional troops from several military divisions of Indian Army had reached different parts of IHK to crush the freedom movement. As if the Indian highhandedness was not enough, thousands of more troops have arrived here. The Indian government thinks that by resorting to coercive measures it can suppress us, how nanve he deplored. Dar said that the phone lines in the occupied valley, particularly the mobile numbers of senior Hurriyat leaders, were jammed in order to disrupt their communication with the rest of Kashmiri public. This journalist had called Dar on his mobile number that was found to be unreachable on Friday, as the Indian Army jammed it. After this newspaper, through other channels, conveyed to Dar requesting him for a conversation, Sarmad Dar contacted this scribe through an alternative number on Saturday. They have jammed our mobile numbers, senior Hurriyat leaders are house-arrested but even then the entire Kashmiri public is on the roads. India is destined to fail in Kashmir, he added. Executive Member, APHC, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi said, Over 700,000 Indian troops in Kashmir make the highest military concentration anywhere in the world. They have endless powers, they shoot the innocent Kashmiris and enjoy complete immunity from prosecution, thanks to the notorious Armed Forces Special Power Act Faiz urged Obama to shun his questionable silence over Kashmir issue and play a proactive role for the just resolution of Kashmir issue according to the United Nations resolutions. The US President better give up his compromising disposition towards India and adopt a principled stance on Kashmir issue, the sooner the better. We look forward to hear something credible from him in this regard, he told this newspaper.
