ISLAMABAD Federal Secretary Statistics Division Asif Bajwa was elected as the president of the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF) on Saturday in the general council meeting of the federation. The representatives of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) boycotted the proceeding and showed their dissatisfaction over the process of election. They were not following even the constitution of the PBF and not giving proper information to us, said a representatives of PSB.However, according to a press release of the PBF, Col (r) Naseem Butt retained his office as the general secretary of the federation while Mohammad Naeem Sheikh will continue to hold his post as the treasurer for the next four-year term. Twenty members of general council out of 24 were present in the meeting. Other office-bearers who were also elected unanimously are: Fawad Usman Khan (senior vice president), Haji Baz Gul Afridi (vice president), Rashid Butt (vice president), Flying Officer Zubair (vice president), Syed Ziauddin (vice president), Abdul Jawad (associate secretary), Imran Bashir (associate secretary) and Ata Mohammad Kakar (associate secretary).
