LAHORE - Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Children (SPARC) organised a children parliament (CP) session here at a local hotel on Saturday. A large number of elected members of CP participated in the regional assembly session. The speaker CP Lala Rukh, a student of Hamdard Public School, Model Town, started the session with welcome note. Minister Health CP informed the assembly that they had started a campaign on clean environment in slum areas of Lahore. Minister of Education CP presented the report of his ministry and told that education campaign was being run to achieve good enrolment goals. Minister of Minority Affairs Bunny Jibran, a student of Swiss Model School, said they had conducted a survey to find out the problems of children in minority. Chief minister CP told that they had conducted a fund raising campaign for flood-affected children. The assembly unanimously passed the resolution to demand the government a separate Child Ministry. Talking to TheNation Prime Minster CP Talha Bin Rizwan said children of the country had many problems. He said the government should resolve the issue of child labour, child abuse and others. Speaker CP Lala Rukh said our rulers should realise their responsibilities. She said most of our rulers were hypocrite having no interest to resolve the problems of the masses. Chairman education complaint cell of CM Punjab Sardar Naseem was the chief guest. He offered the children to contact him in case of any problem. He also offered them fee deduction and free books availability to poor children.
