LAHORE City police have been put on high-alert with massive deployment of police personnel around Masajids, Eidgahs, commercial markets, public parks, and recreational spots to ensure foolproof security for the people during the Eid-ul-Azha days. Police sources said that all arrangements have been finalized to ensure security for the public during Eid holidays particularly Eid prayers. The said that the security plan had been chalked out on the special directions of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir in order to ensure peace all over the City. According to the officials, the CCPO has called upon the police personnel to leave no stone unturned to serve the masses and eradicate scourge of crime from the society. The police would remain on high-alert on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to maintain law and order. In order to achieve this objective, more than 10,000 police officials, Divisional SPs, Supervisory Police Officers, SHOs, Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Sub-Inspectors have been deputed at various sensitive points in the city. The CCPO has also directed the police to step up armed patrolling in the important and sensitive areas. The policemen at Emergency Service (Rescue-15) would also remain on high alert in order to take prompt action on the complaints of citizens. The police have also made a special traffic plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic on roads during Eid holidays and additional traffic wardens have been deputed at important roads and busy areas.
