ISLAMABAD - The ruling PPP led by President Asif Ali Zardari is likely to face serious opposition within the party when a group of dissidents would launch PPP Bachao Tehreek (Save PPP Movement) later this month. The group, which has been sidelined by the President Zardari, the Co-Chairman of the party, has decided to go public and would question the top leadership of the party for allegedly deviating from philosophy and ideological settings of the party. Sources privy to these developments told TheNation that former MNA and political secretary to Benazir Bhutto, Naheed Khan and her Husaban Senator Abbasi have sent out invitation to all those PPP leaders who have been sidelined, for a meeting to discuss and decide future course of the group. Sources said that all the invitees have consented to attend. Those who have been invited included: Barrister Ch Aitezaz Ahsen, Dr Israr Shah, former foreign minister Shah mehmood Qureshi as well as Dr Zulfikar Mirza. The group was keeping date and venue of the meeting secret so far to avoid government interference to sabotage the effort.
