SIALKOT - Regional Police Officer Gujranwala Range Muhammad Amin Vance said that a vigorous campaign launched to eliminate criminals had resulted in declining crime rate in the range. Addressing members of the business community, traders and citizen at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) On Thursday, the RPO disclosed that a roadmap had been prepared for the protection of people besides model police stations would be established in the range.The RPO said the proposed model police stations would be furnished with useful data of criminals and documentation of crimes. Initially model police stations will be set up at selective places and after assessing its performance such police stations will be established in all districts of the region," he said. Amin Vance disclosed that due to effective mechanism adopted by the police the incidents of abduction for ransom, land grabbing, drug trafficking and extortion had been eliminated in the region. Special attention has also been focused on developing cordial relations between the Police and public to restore the masses confidence," he pointed out. The RPO elaborated that all out efforts were being made on war footing to come up to the public expectations in Gujranwala Range. Amin Vance urged on the people that they should keep a vigilant eye on suspected persons in their respective areas and share information with police for speedy action against criminals. He assured that special steps would be taken against Shisha clubs to protect the younger generation. Speaking on the occasion, SCCI President Naeem Anwar Qureshi suggested that it was need of the hour that the police force including SHOs should trained on modern and scientific line and equipped with latest weaponry to dealt with criminals with iron hands.
