LAHORE - TheNation Editor-in-Chief and Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) Chairman Majid Nizami on Thursday said defence of the country should be top priority as Pakistan was surrounded by enemies.

Addressing a sitting at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan, which was held to mark the Defence Day, Majid Nizami said that Pakistan should not keep any kind of relation with India until Kashmir was liberated from its illegal occupation.

Pakistan Naval War College Director Commodore (r) Naveed Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion while NPT Vice-Chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Arshad, Aziz Zafar Azad, Shahid Rasheed, Rafaqat Riaz, teachers, students and a good number of people from different walks of life attended the event.

While thanking Almighty Allah on defeating traditional enemy in 1965 war, Majid Nizami appreciated the heroic efforts of Pakistan Army. When India attacked Pakistan, he said, the enemy thought that it would soon occupy Lahore but was responded in the same way. At this point, he urged the students to join Pakistan Army and fight with the enemy.

The NPT chairman said that India had occupied the jugular vein of Pakistan - Kashmir since the creation of the country. But today, he held, Pakistan was an atomic power with unconquerable defence, so there must be war with India for the independence of Kashmir.

People criticis Japan on its role in the WW II but, he maintained, Japan has become the greatest exporter in the world toady.

Commodore (r) Naveed Ahmad while throwing light on the war 1965 said that the best strategy of Pakistan Army, Air Force and Navy defeated India with three times big army. Naveed also lauded Majid Nizami for his services for the nation and the country. “Majid Nizami is the custodian of the ideological boundaries of Pakistan,” he said. While speaking on the occasion, Dr Rafique said that the day of September 6, like other important occasions, had a great importance in making destiny of the Pakistani nation.
