LAHORE – PIAF-Founders Alliance has pledged to work hard for the early solution of issues being faced by the business community and for the betterment of business environment under a well thought-out strategy.

While presenting 12-month performance report of the PIAF-Founders Alliance on Thursday, leaders of Alliance Media Committee Iftikhar Ali Malik and Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that PIAF-Founders Alliance had introduced open door policy in the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and ended discrimination in small & big traders. Chairman PIAF-Founders Alliance Mian Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman Alliance Steering Committee Mian Anjum Nisar, Alliance candidates for Corporate Class Farooq Iftikhar, Ibrar Ahmad, Mian Tariq Rehman, Chaudhry Iftikhar Bashir, Mumshad Ali, Tanvir Ahmad Sufi, Alliance candidates for Associate Class Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Kashif Anwar, S.M. Tariq, Hassan Amjad, Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, Mian Zahid Javed Ahmad, Mudassar Masood and Muhammad Akram Malik were also present on the occasion.

Iftikhar Ali Malik and Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that for the first time in the history of the country, Alliance leadership convinced the State Bank of Pakistan for a cut in markup and 3.5 per cent cut was made in the Markup rate in the year 2012. That is a big achievement by all means and would a long way in ensuring availability of cheaper money to the business community.

However an effort would be made to bring it to single digit.

They said that it was the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry who successfully convinced the government to avoid imposition of Controversial SROs or any other new taxes as the economy, trade & industry are facing multiple internal and external challenges.
