LAHORE - Parts of the country including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities on Tuesday, making weather pleasant by causing considerable decrease in the mercury level.

Experts have forecast more rains during the next 24 hours. Rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Bahawalpur division and at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, Hyderabad, DI Khan divisions, upper FATA and Kashmir.

In Lahore, thick clouds covered the sky last night that followed by strong winds and scattered rains during the day. Cloudiness, strong winds and scattered showers caused considerable decrease in temperature during the day and at nighttime, making weather pleasant.

On Tuesday, maximum and minimum temperature in the city was recorded 23 degree Celsius and 18c respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 66 per cent.

According to experts, westerly trough present over upper areas of Pakistan is likely to move Northeastward during next 12 hours. Local meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of scattered rains for Lahore during the next 24 hours. Met office has forecast rain-thundershower at scattered places of Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal divisions), Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the night. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

On Tuesday, Sialkot received 43mm rain, Faisalabad 39mm, Toba Tek Singh 32mm, Gujranwala 27mm, Okara14 mm, Bahawalpur and and Rawalpindi 07mm. each, Kotli 06mm, Mangla 05mm, Bahawalnagar, Shaheed Benazirabad and Jhelum 03mm each, Islamabad, Barkhan, DI Khan and Multan 02mm each, Rawalakot, Chhor, Kohat, Murree and Bhakar 01mm each.
