ISLAMABAD - The result of the candidates who appeared in HSSC Part-II annual Examination 2008 remained 78.74 percent declared by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Thursday. Total 36,171 students had appeared in the Higher Secondary School Certificate Annual Examination 2008, including regular, private and ex-students out of whom 28,455 remained successful. The pass percentage of female students remained high with 83.40 as compared to boys that was 73.80 percent as 15,505 and 12,950 girls and boys were declared successful respectively. In Pre-Engineering Group Zunaira Maryam from Army Public School and College, Sargodha Cantt, secured first position with 1,007 marks followed by Farah Maham Arshad with 999 marks from Army Public School and College 208, Humayun Road, Rawalpindi, while the third position went to Muhammad Ibrahim Wasiq Khan from F.G Sir Syed College, The Mall, Rawalpindi Cantt, with 995 marks.   Ayesha Aziz in Pre-Medical Group from Army Public School and College, 208, Humayun Road, Rawalpindi, secured 1,005 marks out of 1,100 and got first position and Sidra Riaz clinched second position with 1,002 marks from the same institution while third position was shared by Fahad Zafar from Army Public School and College, Attock Cantt, and Zahra Iqbal from Hitech School and College for Girls, Taxila Cantt, with 997 marks. In General Science Group girls outshone boys by obtaining all top three positions. Maria Ejaz of Bahria College, Naval Complex, E-8, Islamabad, got first position with 1,001 marks followed by Maria Ikram Kiani of Army Public School and College, 208, Humayun Road, Rawalpindi, with 979 marks whereas Sara Jamil of Pakistan International School, Taj Al Deen Almakki Azizyah PO. Box 7,436, Jeddah, 21,462, Saudi Arabia came third securing 922 marks. In Commerce Group, Sarosh-e-Dost of Punjab College of Commerce, 661, Near Golra Mor, Peshwar Road, Rawalpindi Cantt, came first securing 907 marks and Hafiz Umair Latif of Punjab College of Information Technology, Shahrah-e-Suhrawardy, Aabpara, Islamabad, obtained second position with 877 marks while Asma Aslam remained third with 859 marks from Pakistan College P.O Box 987 RUWI Postal Code-112 Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. In Humanities Group, Sara Ahmad got first position with 892 marks from Pakistan International School, Taj Al Deen Almakki Azizyah, P.O.Box 7436, Jeddah, 21,462 Saudi Arabia.  The second position was shared by the two students with 887 marks Hafiz Saifullah Khan of Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel, Islamabad, and Fabaiha Umar from Pakistan International School P.O. Box 1,439, Al-Khobar 31952 Saudi Arabia. And the third position went to a private student, Mah Jabeen, who secured 882 marks.      All those candidates desirous of improving their grades can reappear in up to two subjects of their choice or entire examination in current course within a period of one year after the declaration of result. Those who have failed in more than two subjects have been shown as fail in the gazette and are required to appear in all the subjects as fresh candidates in annual examination while those failing in one or two subjects have been placed under compartment and are required to clear these papers in two allowed chances of supplementary and Annual examination 2009. The HSSC Supplementary Examination, 2008 of Federal Board will commence from October 14. The last date for submission of admission forms with ordinary fee is August 29, 2008.
