LAHORE - Another 20 were tested dengue positive on Saturday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the province to 2,534.  Out of 20 new cases, 18 were reported from Lahore and one each from Rawalpindi and Khanewal. Out of 18 new cases in Lahore, five were reported from Shalamar Town, two each from Cantonment, Data Gunj Bakhsh Town, Aziz Bhatti Town, Gulberg Town, Samanabad Town and Nishter Town and one from Ravi Town.


Prof Iam Ramsey from University of Glasgow visited CPSP Regional Center Lahore on Saturday. Senior Vice President CPSP briefed the visiting guest about the performance of CPSP. She said CPSP has launched four new fellowships in Fetal Medicine, Urogynaecology, Oncology and Infertility.

Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, DGIR, said CPSP is going to start another fellowship in the subject of Emergency Medicine. President CPSP Prof Zafar Ullah Ch interacted with the visiting guest from Karachi through video link. The meeting was attended by Prof Yasmin Rashid, Prof Muhammad Tayyab, Prof Shamsa Humayun, Prof Tabinda Rana, Prof Tayyiba Waseem, Prof Samia Malik, Brig Azra Batool, Col Neelofar, Prof Ayesha Malik, Dr Mustafa and Dr Maimoona Hafeez.


Lahore Development Authority has announced names of successful candidates who have been selected against eight vacancies of Deputy Director Town Planning.

The seven candidates selected on open merit are Faisal Masood Qureshi, Ayesha Nazir, Siddiqa Amin, Azhar Ali, Ali Nusrat, Muhammad Shoaib and Shafqat Niaz Kang. Bushra Khalid has been selected on the seat reserved for female candidates.

These officers have been recruited in BS 18 on contract basis for a period of three years. Services of National Testing Service had been hired for ensuring transparency and merit in the recruitment procedure and candidates shortlisted on the basis of educational qualification as well as the NTS test were called for interview.
