LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed extreme displeasure over slow implementation and poor utilisation of block allocation of Rs 2billion which was meant for the improvement of graveyards in the province.

The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary Punjab to convey his extreme displeasure in writing to Commissioners and DCOs for better utilisation of these funds.

The Chief Minister has further directed the Chief Secretary to write to the Commissioners emphasising upon the importance of initiatives of the CM, along with directions to personally supervise implementation of schemes initiated under this project. The CM said that this initiative should be made part of the agenda of Commissioners’ Conference and its progress be reviewed on regular basis by Chief Secretary himself.

The CM ordered that progress relating to implementation, as well as utilisation of funds pertaining to each and every scheme, must be discussed and reviewed at the forum of District Coordination Committees, which have already been constituted at district level.  The Chief Minister also directed necessary action in this regard, and a report be submitted to him at the earliest.
