An ASI and two constables of Railways Police are extorting money from poor rickshaw drivers allegedly for their entrance in the railway land limits here in Lalamusa. The poor rickshaw drivers have expressed their disapproval of the malpractice and demanded the authorities concerned to take stern action whosoever involve in the malpractice. According to details, ASI Arshad Baig and constables - Mehdi and Nasar of Railways Police Lalamusa have allegedly been taking bribe from the rickshaw drivers after catching them when they pick or drop passengers near Jamia Noorani Ghousia Mosque situated near Darbar Mohallah Karimpura in Lalamusa. Reportedly they demand money with menaces from poor rickshaw drivers and even arrest them to make them grease their palm. Rickshaw drivers have alleged that these Railways Policemen demanded Rs3,000 for not registering a case and Rs1,500 for release of a "captured" rickshaw driver on personal guarantee which had been creating problems for the poor rickshaw drivers. The helpless rickshaw drivers have appealed to the Railway Police high-ups to take action against the 'guilty' cops so that the poor rickshaw drivers could take a sigh of relief. They also warned that they would be compelled to take to streets and block GT Road if their demands were not accepted.

DRUG PUSHER HELD: The Lalamusa Saddr Police arrested a drug-pusher with 740 grams of chars here the other day. Reportedly, Lalamusa Saddr Police SHO Sajid Sohail during routine patrol arrested a drug pusher identified as Azam, a resident of Bubanian when he was going on a motorcycle to supply chars near Miana Chowk Dulanwala. The police have registered a case against him.
