MULTAN-Punjab Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manais has said that the future success of the youth is linked with their command over information technology and computer.

He observed this while addressing the students of Government Emerson College after inaugurating an IT Centre in the college here on Saturday. The centre is established at a cost of Rs40 million and state-of-the-art IT facilities are made available for students.

The minister added that keeping in view the increasing importance of computer science, the Punjab government had started setting up IT centres in all colleges of the province. "But we can benefit from this initiative only if the students utilise these facilities and put the country on path of progress and prosperity," he added.

He said that the computers had become integral part of our lives as their use had increased considerably. He assured the students that he would talk to the Chief Minister for appointment of competent faculty at the centre. He further declared that all out efforts would be made to get resolved problems being faced by the college. The principal of the college Malik Abdul Jabbar and Prof Naseem Shahid also spoke on the occasion.
