LAHORE (PR) The Faiz Foundation Trust is organising a number of events during February to mark the close of the Faiz Centennial Year.

Allama Iqbal’s Payam-e-Mashriq, translated in poetic rhyme from Persian into Urdu by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, will be launched at the Ali Institute of Education on 11th February at 6.00 p.m. Speakers include Dr. Javed Iqbal, Prof. Khursheed Rizvi and Mr. Ahmed Javed. Selections from the collection will be read out by Adeel Hashmi accompanied by Rakae Jamil on the sitar.

The Faiz Aman Mela organised by Labour Party Pakistan in collaboration with Faiz Foundation Trust will be held on Sunday 12th February from 12.30 to 6.00 pm at Bagh-e-Jinnah Open Air Theatre. The event will start with a mushaira, followed by a cultural programme. Poets and artists from across Pakistan are expected to participate.

Tina Sani will sing selections from the poetry of Faiz and Iqbal. It will be held on February 13th at 6.00 pm at AlHamra Hall 1, The Mall.
