LAHORE – At least eight teenage workers including three girls were among the dead, who were pulled out from the debris of a three-storey factory building that collapsed in Hassan Town on Monday morning.

Rescue workers said that 13-year-old Tanveer, Muhammad Asif, 14, Aadil, 13, Aleesha, 16, Saira, 14, Aasia, 15, Asim, 18, and Asma, 18, were also among the underage and underpaid workers.  Official sources said that underage and child labour is strictly banned in the country as per law but the poor are left with no other option but to send their kids to work to meet both the ends.

According to rescue workers, two young sisters are also among the poor workers who were recovered dead during the operation.
