PESHAWAR – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, President, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said Tuesday that foreign policy of the country was not based on the wishes of the country people, adding that it should be based on relations with different countries. He said the country’s foreign policy should be reframed and it should be made according to the wishes of the people. “Our present policy does not reflect people’s wishes,” he said while addressing a public gathering in Kohat. He maintained that the government was not following parliament’s resolutions and his party would change the destiny of the nation if given a chance to rule.Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that had there been no JUI-F representation in the parliament, the constitution would have been completely secular. He said the US was busy killing Afghanis for 10 years and now it was holding peace talks. “If Americans can do that (talks) then why not Pakistan,” he added. He said every government in the past was ousted on corruption charges but corruption had not come to an end. The west has attacked the country’s civilization, he observed and said that madressahs were not terrorist havens, instead they were places where students got knowledge. A large number of people attended the JUI-F sponsored Istehkami Pakistan conference which was held at Company Bagh Kohat.
