ISLAMABAD -  The Pakistan Sports Bill (The Pakistan Sports Board Bill, 2012) was tabled in the National Assembly on Tuesday by Ms Tasneem Siddiqui.

The private bill will help regulate the development and control of sports in Pakistan at international level and help streamline the structure of Pakistan Sports Board.

Elaborating salient features of the bill, Ms Tasneem Siddiqui said the bill would bring transparency in sports and help remove corruption and nepotism in sports bodies. 

After the passage of bill, the officials of sports board will be appointed on merit besides selection of players at national level on merit.

A sports ombudsman will also be appointed for dispensation of speedy justice and removing grievances of players.
