QUETTA - A powerful bomb blast rocked the provincial capital late Tuesday night slightly injuring a person and damaging several shops.According to police, the blast occurred in front of a private bank located at Liaquat Bazaar adjacent to Prince Road Quetta.  The blast was so powerful that it was heard from a distance of three kilometers that damaged several shops and electricity cables. The blast also badly damaged the building of bank and adjacent shops besides scattering windscreen of some vehicles. One person stated to be the security guard of the bank received minor injuries.‘Unidentified people had fitted explosives beneath generator of bank which exploded and damaged over 20 shops and scattered windowpanes of the nearby building’, DIG Operations Quetta Nazir Kurd told media persons,adding, that it was a terrorist act and more than 10 kilogram explosives were used in the blast. He said that investigations are underway to ascertain real motive behind the blast.Police personnel of Frontier Corps and Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.
