LAHORE - Pakistan Rugby Union (PRU) announced Pakistan team for the upcoming HSBC Rugby 7s Tournament to be held in Bankbook, Thailand from February 10 to 11.

At the last day of the camp which was held here at the DHA Rugby Ground, President Fawzi Kawaja announced the traveling squad. He was also excited about the diversity of players selected from different departments and provinces including eight new caps in the squad.

Manager Ahmed Mumtaz from Sindh expressed his confidence in the team and said they would face much higher ranked teams in the international event. He thought the boys had practiced hard and would produce excellent results.

Shakeel Ahmed is coach as well as player while Ahmed Mumtaz is manager as well as player. Umer Islam of Lahore Rugby Football Club (LRFC) is captain of the team while Fiaz Ahmed Dogar of Army is vice-captain while the team members are Zafar Iqbal (Army), Tahir Yaqoob (Army), Fiaz Ahmed Dogar (Army), Khalid Mahmood (Army), Waseem (Bawalnager), Areeb Ali (DHA), Shakeel Ahmed (LRFC), Ayub (Multan), Basit (Muzaffargarh), Khalid Hussain Bhatti (Police), M Ali (Police), M Tahir (Punjab), Umer Islam (LRFC), Ahmed Mumtaz (Sindh).
