The education and buildings departments have identified 170 government schools’ buildings as dangerous in Sialkot district.

Officials said that they had brought the situation into the notice of the Buildings Department. They added that the schools’ buildings should be declared dangerous, seeking shifting of these schools to other suitable places.

According to the officials, the schools are situated Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils. These schools lack potable water, furniture and electricity facilities. Local people have expressed grave concerns over the nasty situation and urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Commissioner Khawaja Shamail Ahmed to look into the matter.
