The candidates appearing in online entrance examinations for admission to different courses in FAST University Islamabad suffered great ordeal when computer system stopped working during the test.

“The entrance examination was postponed on the very day of the examination due to computer server failure,” Hamza Khalid, a candidate said. He added that entrance exam was held at online exam centres and due to main computer server failure the test was postponed.

He stated, “Three test sessions had to be held on the day and none of the sessions was held.” He observed that it was inconvenience for all the students who had arrived at the exam centres from far-flung areas.

Now, the tests have been rescheduled to be held on July 9, 2014. Meanwhile, the students said that it was not possible for them to come again for the test especially for those belong to areas far off areas.

Moreover, they said, the staff was least interested in addressing their problems as they were seemed non-cooperative towards students and their parents.

 “The staff showed a lot of rudeness towards the complaining parents for complaining against the situation. The university which is known for one of the best computer sciences faculty in the country could not arrange an online entry test on time and could not provide a timely and acceptable alternative for the students, the said.
