BUREWALA: A newly wedded bride has confessed to strangling her husband to death with the help of her paramour at Satellite Town.

Police on the complaint of the deceased family investigated the matter and after six days, the accused in police custody confessed to her crime.

Aqeel Raza, 22, was married to Fakhra Javed Abbas, a resident of Z-Block Burewala about two months ago and the couple was living at Satellite Town Burewala. Fakhra had been suspected of having illicit relations with Tahir of Bashir Town Burewala. On May 2, she allegedly consumed intoxicating thing in milk and served it to the family. In the night, along with her paramour, she suffocated her husband to death. She portrayed her death as natural incident but the family seeing marks on the neck of the deceased reported the matter to the city police.

Aqeel’s mother Shahnaz Begum and other relatives suspected his death as murder and filed a complaint with local police against his wife. Police took her into the custody and started investigation. And she confessed to her crime and revealed that she also with her paramour Tahir had murdered him.

Aqeel was the only son and breadwinner of the family. When asked about negligence and delay in taking action and registration of case against accused, DSP Zulfiqar Ali said that the family had not earlier filed a written complaint. When they filed a written complaint, the police didn’t waste time to investigate the matter and arrested the couple after confession, he said.–Staff Reporter
