LAHORE : Children were administered polio drops at a ceremony at the Lahore General Hospital on Monday. Principal of Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof Dr Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab administered the polio drops. Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmood Salah-ud-Din, Nursing Superintendent Razia Bano, doctors and medical staff was present on this occasion.    Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab stressed the need to create awareness among the masses to get their children vaccinated against polio.

He said that to ensure polio free society, every citizen had to come forward and play role.

            Principal PGMI said that unfortunately there was some negative propaganda taking place regarding polio vaccination which had no reality.

            He said that print and electronic media should also be vibrant in transiting the facts and save the next generation.

            Prof. Dr. Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab asked the authorities of Lahore General Hospital to remain vigilant and ensure maximum quantity of polio vaccination.

            He said that apart from fetching polio vaccination, medical staff should also educate the parents about its importance.

            On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr. Mahmood Salah-ud-Din briefed about the arrangements made at Lahore General Hospital for this polio campaign.
