ISLAMABAD At least fifteen MNAs belonging to PPP (Parliamentarians) had approached PML-N soon after the recent meeting between Babar Awan and Ch Parvaiz Elahi, sources informed on Sunday. Well-placed PML-N sources, while speaking on the condition of anonymity, informed TheNation that these PPP(P) MNAs approached PML-N and offered their cooperation in the event of any PML-Q-PPP(P) deal. Without naming them, sources revealed that they had perhaps approached PML-N in frustration and did not want PPPP to enter into any political deal with PML-Q. We did not encourage them because of our party policy, a senior party leader told TheNation. Meanwhile, PML-N has decided to drop aggressive stance against the Q-League and is believed to have been continuing fortifying its position within the Punjab Assembly. Sources said that more desertions from Q-League are on the cards after Ch Sher Ali joined the Unification Group of MPAs, who had earlier deserted the Q-League and announced their support to the PML-N-led coalition Government in the Punjab province. We are not supporting any MPA of the Q-League. They are independent in making their decisions, sources informed. They were of the view that the Unification Group was perhaps vying to strengthen their own ranks against their mother party, Q-League, by making up more than fifty percent of the total strength of the Q-League in the Punjab Assembly.
