QUETTA Four policemen were shot dead in Mastung district, some 60 kilometres south of Quetta on Sunday. According to sources, four police officials in a vehicle, carrying salaries of Naushki police employees, were on their way from Kalat to Naushki when unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire at them near Kardgap area of Mastung. As a result, four security officials died on the spot while the killers made away with two rifles and salaries of 83 policemen. Police sources said that the incident seemed to be a case of robbery. The deceased were identified as head constable Nazir Ahmed Lehri, constables Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Saeed and driver Nazir Ahmed. The bodies had been shifted to Quetta for autopsy. The police and the Levies Force personnel cordoned off the area and started a search for the culprits.
