LAHORE - Editor-in-Chief TheNation and Chairman Nazria Pakistan Trust (NPT) Majid Nizami has advised the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) that they should focus on playing their due role for the unification of various factions of Muslim Leagues and the MSF leaders should press their leadership to unite the several leagues, as Pakistans existence would continue to face threats if the goal of merger is not achieved. He expressed these views while addressing the former and current office-bearers of MSF at the Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Sunday. He said MSF had played the role of forefront force of Pakistan Muslim League during the Pakistan Movement under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and the creation of a separate homeland for the Sub-Continent Muslims was made possible through the sacrifices laid down by the MSF. However, he also said the task of MSF would not be accomplished till the unification of various factions of Muslim Leagues, as their mother party had facing the dilemma of fictionalisation. Majid Nizami said MSF leadership should have take the responsibility once again to transform the country into Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbals Pakistan in its true spirit. He said the people who considered themselves more patriotic were in fact against the unification of various factions of Leagues, which was very unfortunate. Chairman NPT said he had taken up the task of unification of Muslim Leagues sometime back and invited Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain at the Trust to utter their views on the issue of merger, while Ch Shujaat excepted his invitation but Nawaz Sharif had not given a clear response. He said he also invited Pir of Pagaro in the stated meeting and Pagaro replied that he could not come due to some personal engagements, however, his representative would participate in the meeting and give approval to Majid Nizamis efforts regarding the unification of the Leagues on behalf of Pir Sahib. He said his efforts regarding the unification could not prove fruitful. Majid Nizami said now Pir of Pagaro had taken up the daunting task of unification and he prayed to the Almighty Allah for his success. Editor-in-Chief TheNation said Pagaro sent Mir Zafar Ullah Jamali to Lahore for the unification purpose, however, Nawaz Sharif said on this occasion that the PML-N would not become part of any alliance. He said Muslim League could not get visible majority in the elections if it remained divided in various factions and it was vital for Muslim Leagues clear success that it should become a single entity. While speaking on the occasion, the office-bearers of MSF paid rich tributes to Majid Nizami for his 60-year services for journalism and on the national front as well, adding he was the only source of keeping alive the ideological philosophy of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
