LAHORE - The process to hold PML-N elections is in progress and will be completed as soon as possible, said a senior party leader on Sunday. Senator Pervaiz Rashid told The Nation that no deadline had been set for the purpose as utmost attention was being paid to make the intra-party elections truly democratic. He said during the past eight months, organising committees had been set up at all levels. A central organising committee was there at the top and provincial committees were working under it. The provincial committees had constituted divisional committees which had set up committees at the district level. The district organizers had been nominated who would oversee elections for primary, tehsil and city level, he said. Senator Pervaiz Rashid said the first meeting of the district organizers was held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Sirdar Zulfikar Khosa. Pervaiz Rashid and MNA Khwaja Saad Rafiq had also attended. Similar meetings would be held in other provinces during the next few weeks. He said Mian Nawaz Sharif would be visiting other three provinces in the near future in connection with the party organisation.
