LAHORE - Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad has urged upon the public health experts to come forward with a comprehensive strategy based on the scientific research for complete eradication of dengue virus so that this issue could be resolved on permanent basis. He also called a meeting of the entomologists, bacteriologists and other medical experts of Institute of Public Health (IPH), KEMU, University of Veterinary Sciences and Health Department in his office on today (Monday). He issued these instructions while presiding over a high level meeting to review the on going spray/fogging campaign and treatment facilities for the dengue patients in his office on Sunday. Additional Secretary Health (Technical) Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Sulehrya, DCO Ahad Cheema, Director Health Management Information System Dr Muhammad Anwar Janjua, EDO Health Dr Umer Farooq Baloch and District Officer Health (DOH) Dr Haq Nawaz Bharwana and other officers were also attended the meeting. DCO Ahad Cheema observed that the positive results would come out within few days of the spray drive which was started in the previous week. Fawad Hassan Fawad directed the PHA administration to drain out stagnant water from the parks and grounds and minimum water should be released in the grounds to avoid mosquito growth. The secretary also directed the DCO to chalk out a plan to remove solid waste of sacrificial animals on emergency basis from the roads on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
