LAHORE Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Central Jamiat-ahle-Hadith, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan and Islami Tehrik Pakistan have rejected the former JI ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmeds initiative to form a non-political alliance terming it as a futile exercise here on Sunday. The leaders said Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) was a best platform to gather all the religious parties, therefore, MMA should be restored. Ameer Markazi Jamiat-e-Ahle Hadith Prof Sajid Mir said MMA should be made a greater alliance with consultation with other religious parties which would be in best interest of the country and the nation. Allama Syed Sajid Naqvi said there was no alliance existed MMA who could solve the problems facing the nation. The restoration of MMA can also play a pivotal role to counter the menace of terrorism and extremism, Naqvi said. Secretary General JUP, Qari Zawar Bahadur said the restoration of MMA was a must and the alliance of small religious groups could not produce positive results. Spokesperson JUI-F Moulana Amjad Khan said no alliance could prove more effective than MMA. According to knowledgeable sources the JUI-F chief had also stressed the restoration of MMA during his recent meeting with Qazi Hussain Ahmad.
