Senators declaring the sitting government as responsible for increasing inflation and corruption in the country said that if steps were not taken in this regard than no one would be able to shield them from the aggression of masses. Speaking on the point of order in the upper house, Senator Professor Ibrahim said that the pries of necessary commodities increased following the torrent floods which ruined the economics of the country. He further said that the Watan Cards are distributing among the flood victims after long time while undeserved people are also getting the cards and intensifying the miseries of affectees. The senator said that if proper steps are not taken to facilitate the masses then no one would stop the government from flowing away in the revolutionary waves. The distrust over the incumbent government by the international donors raised doubts on performance of the rulers, he added. Senator Haji Ghulam Ali of JUI-F speaking in the house said that the masses are depressed by the increasing inflation across the country as prices of sugar, petroleum and necessary commodities are out of reach of common man. He asked the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to make monthly budget of common men in seven thousands rupees. He further said that the industry in the country is badly affected due to long hours power outages and gas loadshedding. Senator Hafiz Rashid said that the prices of necessary commodities are increasing on daily basis and warned the government to learn the lesson of past rulers. Senator Raja Zafarul Haq said that the sugar crises is being created by the mafia, which is sitting in the parliament. Commenting on the statement of Food Minister, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, he said that the rulers had not any mean with the miseries of masses. Senator Fauzia Fakhar Rehman speaking in the house said that the poor segment of society are forced to committee suicides due to increasing inflation in the country. Senator Khalid Mehmood Soomro said that the sugar mafia is hoarding the commodities to increase its prices in the local markets. PML-Q President, Senator Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain said that the federal and provincial government are responsible of all crises including sugar and petroleum. He said that some six sugar mils are owned by CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
