LAHORE - The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) signed two Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with US healthcare company Tigris Health LLC (USA Company), and ESSCOM Japan and Korea on Tuesday, as an outcome of PBIT’s persistent efforts to attract foreign investments in to the province.

The Tigris Health project is being initiated by the help of PBIT under the leadership of PBIT CEO Jahanzeb Burana. Tigris Health LLC is founded by Dr Shahid Chaudhary, a Pakistani-American physician who has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare in the US. The project plans to develop an integrated healthcare delivery network of world class standards in Pakistan. The network will include hospitals with dedicated centres of excellence in major cities. A continuous quality improvement process will be used to assess and improve quality of care.

It aims for a 500 bed hospital in Lahore. The location of the project is Mohlanwal Road which is accessible in 30 minutes from any part of Lahore. The hospital would have facility of ICU wards, CCU wards, Emergency and labs as well. They also plan to build a residential complex to promote medical tourism.

PBIT Chief Executive Officer Jahanzeb Burana signed an MOU with Lee Jang Heon, the Chairman of ESSCOM Korea and Japan. ESSCOM Co Ltd, founded in 2006, deals in ESS (Electric Saving & Safety) System Manufacturing & Installation and the company has offices in Korea, Argentina, Japan and Paraguay. ESS is installed at major facilities including Incheon International Airport, Samsung R&D Center, Lotte Central Laboratory in Magok and Dongdaegu KTX Private Capital Station and the company will now set up a manufacturing plant in Punjab.

Addressing the event, the ESSCOM chairman said that ESS technology once introduced in Pakistan will offer numerous benefits such as Reduction in Energy Consumption, Suppressing of the Overload and a step towards Low-Carbon, Green Growth. The objective of the MoU is that PBIT will provide complete facilitation to promote valuable communication, collaboration and coordination as well as utilise their full resources and energies for the expansion of the group’s investment and commercial engagement in Punjab. The partnership aims to expedite the investment in Punjab and ensuring the increase in faith level.
