LAHORE - Senior PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira on Tuesday accused the PML-N of conspiring against democracy, stating it did not suit the ruling party in the present situation.

“The PML-N is precipitating the matters towards a big political crisis to become a political martyr”, he said while addressing a Press conference here.

Kaira further alleged that the PML-N was provoking the judiciary and the Army to derail the system, though the two institutions were demonstrating patience in response to the severe criticism coming from the ruling party.

“The PML-N has a history of siding with the anti-democratic forces whereas the PPP always stood with democracy”, he said.

To a question, the PPP leader said that his party was opposed to pre-mature elections and would not approve any delay on any pretext.

“The PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has already made it clear that there was no room for any technocrat set up in the Constitution”, he added.

Answering another question, Kaira said that PPP wanted the issue of delimitation of constituencies to be settled first in the Council of Common Interest before the Constitutional amendment.

Kaira announced that PPP would hold a big rally in Islamabad on December 5th to mark its 50th Foundation Day.

He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will announce party’s future course of action on this occasion.
