LAHORE - The Opposition requisitioned a Punjab Assembly session today (Thursday) to take up law and order and the arrest of Shehbaz Sharif by NAB. The session is likely to witness fiery speeches and protest over the arrest of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif by NAB.

The PML-N president has been produced to the National Assembly and now is in Islamabad on transit remand for the attending the ongoing assembly session.   The PML-N legislators on behalf of their party had moved the requisition to discuss arrest of Shehbaz Sharif and the cases against him.

Since the former CM has been taken custody by NAB, the PML-N legislators are up in arms inside and outside the assembly. In the last session that started on October 16 when provincial budget was presented and debate on the same was held, six members of the opposition were not allowed to attend the session after the speaker had found them creating the worst scene inside the house.

Now the restriction is over and the PML-N with full strength will be able to take part in the session. Therefore the possibility of another session filled with fiery speeches exists.

Law and order is another item on agenda about which the opposition has a number of questions particularly after the recently demonstration by TLP. The opposition is also concerned at the surge in street crime across the province.
