LAHORE A local journalist was found slaughtered at his residence here in the posh Johar Town area, police said on early Friday. The deceased, identified as Faisal Qureshi, said to be a web editor of a foreign magazine, was lying dead in a pool of blood at his residence (917-A, Johar View) in the wee hours of Friday. Police investigators said that there were visibly torture marks on the body parts of deceased and it seemed that the killers badly tortured the man and then repeatedly stabbed him. Faisal, brother of a UK-based journalist Shahid Qureshi, was residing alone at his house for the last several years. Resident of Samanabad, Zahid Qureshi, told the police that he rushed to the residence of his brother late on Thursday night as Faisal was not attending his cellular phone. According to the complainant, his brother was lying in a pool of blood as he entered in the bedroom. The police rushed to the spot and collected evidences from the crime scene shortly after Zahid contacted the police and informed them about the incident. The police had removed the body to the morgue and were investigating with no arrest made so far. The police had also registered the case against unidentified killers on the complaint of Zahid Qureshi. Shot dead: In another incident, unidentified motorcyclists gunned down the owner of a snooker club outside his residence in Kot Lakhpat area late on Thursday night. Police said that Basharat Ali was standing in front of his house located near Babar Chowk in Kot Lakhpat police vicinity, when two gunmen riding on a motorcycle appeared there. The gunmen opened straight fire at him and fled away from the crime scene within no time. The man sustained serious bullet injuries and was rushed to the Lahore General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The police handed over the body to the deceased family after autopsy. The police had also registered the case against unidentified killers and were investigating with no arrest made so far.
