Islamabad: Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) has fined 540 shopkeepers and vendors and issued 810 notices to other different food outlets for selling substandard, unhygienic and adulterated food in the capital during ongoing year.

Moreover, 26 First Investigation Reports (FIRs) have also been lodged against the people who repeatedly violated prevailing food laws so that quality food could be ensured in the Federal Capital.

According to details issued today, during the ongoing campaign against adulterated and un-hygienic food sellers, special teams of Directorate of Health Services have confiscated 4586 chipped and cracked utensils and destroyed there and then.

These teams also collected 348 samples and sent those samples to laboratory for proper examination while 26 hotels and other food outlets were also sealed during the current year. 

On the directions of Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed, especially constituted teams of DHS, are busy in taking action against unhygienic and substandard selling food items in Islamabad to ensure provision of quality food material in Federal Capital.

During this campaign Islamabad has been divided into different zones and performance of these teams is being monitored on daily basis.

Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed has directed the DHS to continue this campaign with full devotion and ensure strict action against the violators without any discrimination so that quality food items could be provided in the Federal Capital.
