Rawalpindi - City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi has punished dozens of police officers on account of launching faulty investigations and showing negligence during duty timings, informed police spokesman yesterday.

According to him, CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi heard the show-cause notices served to a large number of police officers on charges of holding wrong investigations in cases and showing negligence during duty.

He said that CPO awarded punishments of forfeiting service, stopping promotions and salary and forceful dismissal from police service to many police officers of the rank of inspector, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables and constables.

Those police officers whose two years service was forfeited by CPO Included Inspector Muhammad Jamil Khan, SIs Munawar Khan, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Ashraf, Zulifaq Ali, Imtiaz Hussain, and Arshad Mehmood while service of SIs Muhammad Yaqoob and Imtiaz Ahmed was confiscated for one year.

Similarly, ASI Imtiaz Ahmed, Constable Waqas Nadim, and Lady Constables Zabda Aziz and Naheed Akhtar were dismissed from police service by CPO, the spokesman added.
