PPP leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has established a Shuhada Welfare Fund for the financial help of the families of the Indian shelling victims in Sialkot border villages.

Talking to newsmen at Sialkot, she announced Rs1 million donations for the welfare of the families of the civilian martyrs.

She urged the local traders, industrialists, exporters, political and social organisations to donate generously for the welfare of the families of those martyred in Sialkot border villages by unprovoked Indian mortar shelling.

Meanwhile, PTI Women Wing Central Punjab President Fauzia Kasuri visited Sialkot border villages that were hit by Indian shelling which had recently left six people dead.

Sh expressed complete solidarity with the Pakistan people living in Sialkot border villages against the hostilities of Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) along the Sialkot Working Boundary. She paid rich tributes to their resilience and spirit.

Later, addressing a public meeting at Chawinda, Pasrur tehsil, Kasuri said that Pakistan always wanted durable peace and good relations with its neighbours including India to promote durable peace in the region.

She said that the entire nation stands united along with the armed forces of Pakistan to defend the Motherland. She said that the Pakistan armed forces had full capabilities to defend the Motherland.
