ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to ensure implementation of low cost housing scheme to meet the growing needs of houses across the country.In a meeting in Islamabad on Monday, the prime minister said providing accommodation to shelter-less and low-income people is the duty of the government. Sharif said that practical steps should be taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, the prime minister has called the meeting of senior party leaders and party’s Sindh Chapter today (Tuesday) to devise strategy for upcoming Local Bodies’ elections in Punjab and Sindh.

Sources in the ruling PML-N informed that the meeting, which would be held under the chair of Nawaz Sharif at Prime Minister’s House would discuss at length the issues relating to the upcoming Local Bodies elections in Punjab and Sindh.

The parties affairs with specific reference to Sindh province would also came under discussion. At the same time the possibility of political alliances with local groups and parties would also figure in the meeting. Sources further said that the by-polls in NA-122 and NA- 154 would also come under discussion. The meeting would likely be attended by Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, select federal ministers and party leaders from Sindh, including Senator Nehal Hashmi, Ismail Lahu and Shah Mohammad Shah.
