ISLAMABAD - Some 14 officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) got benefit from the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), who collectively plundered Rs 138.567 million from the national exchequer. According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) list presented in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, there are five references against these 14 officials. Among them, Rs 37.447 million fraud in CDA amount and Rs 101.12 million embezzlement in illegal allotment of plots. Names of these officials who had allegedly plundered billions of rupees but were cleared by the NAB under the NRO, are Ch Muhammad Aslam, Ex-DC CDA, Amin Khan, ex-DC CDA, Shaukat Ali, Ex-DC CDA, Ahmed Khan, Ex-DC CDA, Abdul Ghafoor Dogar, Ex-Secretary CDA, Mushtaq Ahmed Baloch, Ex-AD CDA, Muhammad Ismail, Ex-Sub Engineer CDA, Atta Ullah Khan, Ex-account officer CDA, Muhammad Farooq, Ex-Patwari CDA, Muzamil Hussain, Ex-Patwari CDA, Dawood Khan, Copy Clerk CDA, Muhammad Iqbal Ex DD Planning CDA, Mohiud Din Jameeli, Ex-DG Services CDA, Muhammad Ashfaq Ex-DD CDA. Muhammad Amin Khan, ex-DC CDA, whose name is also included in the list, and currently working as Director Law (Opinion) in CDA Law Directorate. Muhammad Amin allegedly minted million of rupees in illegal allotment of plot. According to a CDA official, most of the aforementioned officials are involved in frauds, embezzlement and big land scams. Meanwhile, succumbing to political pressure, Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elahi reverted his decision by re-inducting an alleged corrupt official Zahid Bhatti in HR Department of the CDA. Earlier, the Chairman had ordered that the Deputy Director Zahid Bhatti who had been working on deputation in CDA since 2005 would be sent back to his parent organisation Federal Board of Revenue, following the charges of embezzlement of million of rupees in Sector I-12 award. However according to information, succumbing to political pressure and following the special request of President Zardaris close aide, the Chairman has reverted his decision and re-induct him in HR Department of the CDA.
