DUBAI (AFP) - Pakistan beat Australia by seven wickets in the one-off Twenty20 international at Dubai Stadium here on Thursday after bowling them out for just 108. Pakistan reached the target in just 16.2 overs after losing three wickets. Kamran Akmal hit his first fifty of twnety20 career and returned unbeaten at 59. Earlier, Umar Gul took a career-best 4-8 and Shahid Afridi grabbed 3-14 to bundle Australia out for just 108 in the one-off Twenty20 international at Dubai Stadium here on Thursday. Afridi took two wickets off successive deliveries, while Gul recorded the best figures for Pakistan in a Twenty20 match after stand-in captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and decided to field. Shane Watson, who top-scored with a 14-ball 33, gave his team a solid start, hitting three successive boundaries off paceman Sohail Tanvir in the fourth over, but Gul trapped him leg-before with his first delivery. Australia then suffered a severe jolt when four wickets fell for 12 runs in the space of 21 deliveries to leave them in trouble at 73-5. Afridi trapped James Hopes (six) and Andrew Symonds (nought) leg-before off successive deliveries, before bowling David Hussey (four) to put the brakes on the Australian innings. Gul came back for his second spell to dismiss Nathan Hauritz (two), Brett Lee (nought) and Marcus North (20) to improve on his own Pakistan record of 4-13 in a Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka last year.
