ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday discussed overall security situation of the country with special reference to Balochistan with Acting Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali and other party leaders at PM House. Besides the Acting Chairman Senate, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan, Federal Minister for Labour & Manpower Syed Khurshid Shah, Raza Rabbani and Leader of the House in Senate Nayyar Bukhari called on the Premier. During the meeting political and security situation in the country came under discussion with special focus on Balochistan. Various modalities for speedy socio-economic development of Balochistan and bringing the province at par with other provinces were discussed at length and it was hoped that these new initiatives would greatly help address the concerns of people of the province and remove the sense of deprivation among them. The PM said that a plan was underway for a comprehensive financial restructuring of Balochistan and hoped that it would positively contribute towards social and economic uplift of the people of the province. He said the federal govt would employ all its resources to remove backwardness of Balochistan and ensure provision of job opportunities to its youth. He said Balochistan was on the top of the national agenda and the govt was committed to peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues through dialogue and reconciliation.
