KARACHI - TDAP Chief Executive Mohibullah held here on Friday the first ever meeting with the diplomatic corps based in Karachi at the premises of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). The objective of the meeting was to brief Karachi based diplomats about the Trade policies of Pakistan and the significant features of the new export strategy developed by the TDAP. The meeting highlighted that bilateral trade between Pakistan and other countries could be built upon comparative advantages of each other. The TDAP also highlighted great potential for trade and investment oriented industries of Pakistan with great comparative advantage, especially Agro-food, Textile and Clothing, Minerals and Human Services. The TDAP chief executive also invited private sector investment from the countries represented by the Counselor Corps in the meeting and technical cooperation through government interaction of these countries. He pointed out that increased bilateral trade build upon mutual interests would be a win-win situation for business communities of the each countries and Pakistani exporters. He specifically highlighted the unique geo-strategic importance of Pakistan to access Central Asian Republics through Karakoram Highway (KKH), through which not only Pakistani exporters but also businessmen from their countries could take advantage of the quickest access to these markets. This will open many avenues of mutual advantage for their businesses as well as the people of Pakistan. The Counselor Corps of Karachi greatly appreciated the initiative of the TDAP to hold such an interactive session and desired that such meetings be held more frequently to carry forward the objectives of increasing trade and business cooperation between Pakistan and their countries. It was also decided to invite bilateral business forums of Pakistan with other countries to such meetings to discuss the operational issues for increasing trade volume and exports of Pakistan.
