SIALKOT - As many as five persons, including two real brothers and two passers-by, were gunned down by rivals over an old enmity near Jassar Bypass Narowal City Saturday. The killings are a result of a years-old enmity between two Shakargarh-based rivals, namely Hafeez Aaagriyaan and Irshad groups. Irshad Ahmad and his real brother Ashfaq Ahmad were attacked when they were heading towards District Courts Narowal in their car (LES-5249). According to details, five unknown armed motorcyclists started chasing the car. On seeing the accused, the victims tried to use passenger bus (SSP-1340) as shelter. When they reached Jassar Bypass, the attackers opened fire on the car, which resulted in on-the-spot death of Irshad, Ashfaq, two passers-by Muhammad Shafi of village Buddha-Shakargarh and Fakhar Alam of Pasrur, and an unknown person. A passenger of the bus, Khalid, was also seriously injured. The killers 'celebrated the occasion by having 'Bhangra at the crime scene and shouted that they had taken the revenge. Later, the accused fled away while resorting to aerial firing. Narowal City police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the DHQ Civil Hospital for autopsy.
